The „External files in the media library“ plugin also makes it possible to offer digital products in WooCommerce whose files are not located in your own hosting. The files can, for example, be stored under an external URL, at AWS S3, Google Drive, Google Cloud Storage or another of the supported external sources.
Preparations
- Set up WooCommerce and your store operated with it.
Obtaining external files
- Connect to the desired external source of your files under Media library > Add external source.
- Import the files from there into the media library. See also: https://plugins.thomaszwirner.de/externe-dateien-in-der-mediathek/verwendung-von-externen-quellen/
The result is that the files should be visible to you in the media library.
