The „Easy Language“ plugin makes it possible to simplify website texts automatically. But how can you simplify the text of just a single page?
Preliminary remarks
The plugin does not change the original text of a page. The simplification of the texts is carried out in a page set up in parallel by the plugin. This is linked to the original page and can be accessed via a language change or a direct link, for example.
Preparations
- Install the „Easy Language“ plugin in your WordPress project.
- Find the page in your WordPress project whose text you want to simplify.
Implementation
- Call up the list of pages. Search there for the page you want to simplify.
- Click on the „+“ in the „Easy language“ column and follow the dialog.
- As part of the dialog, you will also be asked whether you would like to have the page simplified immediately. Agree to this and wait until the process is complete.
- Once the simplification process has been completed, the page with the simplified content is created. You can call it up immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
I don't see a „Plain language“ column?
In this case, you have probably either not installed the „Easy Language“ plugin, not configured it or are using other language levels as the target for simplification. In the latter case, their names are displayed as a language above a column (e.g. „B1“ when using capito as an API).
