Integrate files via WebDAV

The „External files in the media library“ plugin allows you to use files from various external sources, e.g. also from a WebDAVWebDAV Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning-directory. How to do this is described below.

Establish connection

Proceed as follows:

1. Go to Media library > Add external files > WebDAV.
2. Enter the connection data in the form. These are:
   • URL from WebDAV
   • User name
   • password
3. Establish the connection. The plugin will then list the files from the WebDAV.

Connect and view files

As soon as you have established the connection as described above, you can see the files in the bucket you have selected and select them for import into your media library.

Importing and using files

You can then also import the listed files into the media library. Files from a WebDAV directory are generally only hosted locally in WordPress, but always with a reference to the external source so that they can be updated.
