# How did the plugin come about?

The "Next Meetup Reminder" plugin was created during the [WordPress Meetup in Leipzig](https://www.meetup.com/de-de/leipzig-wordpress-meetup/) on October 1, 2024, as part of a presentation on plugin development. It was developed into version 1.0 within 75 minutes, uploaded to the WordPress repository, and released immediately.
