In principle, WordPress itself has no size limit for files in the media library. However, there are limits in the following cases:
- The maximum upload size defined in the hosting.
- For a multisite installation, the maximum upload size is defined in the website settings.
- The available storage space in WordPress hosting.
There are no such limits for the integration of external files with the „External files in the media library“ plugin. However, limits result from the following aspects:
- The available storage space in WordPress hosting if you use the proxy in the plugin for any files (by default only for images).
- The available storage space of the external source where you store your files.
- The bandwidth of the server connection of your WordPress hosting as well as that of the external source should not be too small for the initial transfer.
